The Inside Story of the Guantanamo Litigations.

On Tuesday, Nov. 29, Trisha Anderson and David Remes of Covington & Burling came to YLS to discuss their experiences representing detainees as the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.

David and Trisha have represented detainees at Guantanamo in the habeas cases, including Rasul v. Bush, and have represented former U.S. Military officials in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld.  They discussed the litigations, as well as their meetings with detainees, and detainees' families back in Yemen.  They also shared the perspectives of the military personnel they have represented.
