Term-Time Positions:

The ACLU Racial Justice Program is looking for a term-time intern to work 10-15 hours a week for at least 10 weeks. Details here.

Summer Positions:

The Center for WorkLife Law (WLL) is a nonprofit research and advocacy organization based at U.C. Hastings College of the Law that seeks to eliminate employment discrimination against mothers and others with family caregiving responsibilities; they are looking for summer interns. Details here.

The National Employment Law Project (NELP) will be joining forces with the Brennan Center's Economic Justice Project, and is looking for law students interested in low-wage and immigrant workers for summer internships. Details here.

The Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund (PRLDEF) is seeking 1L and 2L summer interns. Details here.

New Jersey Institute for Social Justice is a Newark-based non-partisan research and advocacy organization dedicated to challenging barriers that prevent New Jersey’s urban areas and residents from reaching their full potential. Established in 1999 by Alan Lowenstein, co-founder of Lowenstein Sandler PC, the Institute has been called a “social justice think and do tank." Applications for summer internships should be submitted by January 20, 2008. The National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) is seeking law students to work in its Oakland office during Summer 2008. Founded in 1970, the National Center for Youth Law is a non-profit organization that uses the law to improve the lives of poor children. NCYL works to ensure these children have the resources, support, and opportunities they need for a healthy and productive future. The Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission, Public Campaign Finance Unit (in Hartford) is currently recruiting for a Staff Attorney 1, who will be part of a legal and compliance team charged with:  interpreting, implementing, and administering Connecticut public campaign finance law and election law; drafting regulations; drafting training materials and Guidebooks; responding to questions from candidates seeking to qualify for public campaign financing grants; and facilitating compliance by candidates and campaign treasurers with state election and campaign finance law.  The staff attorney will respond to complex legal questions from the public and candidates regarding campaign finance law, conduct legal research, and write legal memoranda.  There are significant possibilities for career advancement. The starting salary is $62,632 – $78,374.
